DETOX is a shared living space.
Maja is the main tenant, and Anton is not. However, he is 1.84 meters tall.
Anton’s door is currently slightly less open.
Maja has reduced her territorial claims in the fridge to the second of four shelves.
They live in a self-built, networked setup. It consists of transducer speakers, electric guitar, keyboard, queerness, Soviet and West German influences, a typewriter, voices, frozen shrimp, unresolved questions, everyday objects as resonators, 98% despair, and 2% humor. In this setup, the processes of impulse and resonance are decoupled from each other in a way that the setup can only be operated together—an exercise in sharing space and responsibility in a burning world.

Four new positions on the subject of music as language and language as music: the multi-perspective spatial pieces are based on German and French texts or alternate between the two languages. Granulate or cipher, texture, interjection, poetic sound shift, singsong or rumour mill: in performative actions with objects and instruments, the performers' bodies position the sound in space. Delicate scrolling, sudden word-finding chains or conspiratorial messages unfold in a communicative situation in which attention is focussed on listening. Each of the compositions creates a world of its own in terms of aesthetics and content. In the overall programme, these different perspectives complement and enrich each other and convey innovative approaches to current contemporary music from Switzerland.

Berna Ay’s artistic practice explores the intricate relationship between human beings and their environment, particularly focusing on the psychological and physical effects of climate change on human health. Her work is characterised by a minimalist approach and a carefree style, often depicting figures interacting with elements of nature. Recurring motifs include characters with plants—such as trees or cabbages—growing from their heads, eyes, or mouths, symbolising the allergic reactions triggered by environmental factors. One notable piece, titled “Kimchi Human” represents the artist’s reflection on how climate change induces eco-anxiety and allergies.
